A case has been registered against a police officer in Lahore for harassing a girl. According to details, Police Lines officer Ovais Jafar harassed a girl named Anam on the street, after which the affected girl approached the police to file a case. Upon the girl’s request, a case was registered against the police officer at the Egyptian Shah police station. It is written in the FIR that I was going to Gurdhi Shah with my sister when the motorcycle broke down near a cap store. The motorcycle rider, a lone police officer, harassed me and my sister, using vulgar language and gestures. The police say that the officer against whom the case has been registered has been arrested and legal action has also been initiated. According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, those who harass women are being brought to justice without any discrimination, and those who tarnish the department’s reputation will face consequences.
