Islamabad: An increase of Rs 4.40 in electricity prices is expected for the next three months, while the ministry of energy has submitted a request to NEPRA. According to media reports, NEPRA will hear the request on February 14, and the new increase in electricity prices will be adjusted over a three-month period, resulting in an additional burden of 82 billion rupees on consumers.
Ministry of Energy’s request states that FESCO has requested an increase of 9.44 billion rupees, PESCO has requested 11.60 billion rupees, MEPCO has requested 15 billion rupees, LESCO has requested 15.10 billion rupees, and K-Electric has requested an increase of 10 billion rupees.
