The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said that the medical situation in Gaza is continuously deteriorating and the food shortage is reaching dangerous levels. According to news reports, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has expressed concern that only one percent of the population in Gaza faced a shortage of food before the war, and now 15 percent of the population is in this situation. The head of the WHO expressed concern that further escalation of the conflict and the disruption of aid could increase these numbers even more. The head of the WHO warned that continuous destruction of the health system and food shortages have turned Gaza into a death trap where people are facing inhumane conditions alongside bombardment. The Director-General of the WHO has expressed strong concern about the difficulty in reaching northern Gaza with food aid. The World Food Program reported yesterday that it had to suspend aid in the area due to concerns about the safety of aid workers and vulnerable people. It should be noted that as of October 7, the number of Palestinians killed in the Israeli bombing in Gaza has reached 29,313, while 69,333 have been injured. Of those killed and injured, half are women and children.
