Islamabad: Due to the heatwave in the Margalla Hills, a fire broke out in the federal capital that intensified. Minister for Climate Change’s assistant Romaina Khan stated that the fire spread over an area of more than three kilometers in the Margalla Hills, and efforts are being made to control it. The officials from the Ministry of Climate Change and the CDA are busy trying to control the fire.
Romaina Khan also mentioned that due to the increase in heatwave and wind speed, the intensity of the fire has increased. The fire has spread near Loi Dandi, Hotter and Pir Sohawa over an area of 3 kilometers and has spread rapidly due to the strong winds.
She informed that approximately 150 personnel are working to control the fire, taking precautions to prevent any casualties. The CDA and the Ministry of Climate Change officials are also present at the site during the night shift.
