Lahore: Renowned actor Qavi Khan, a prominent figure in the Pakistani showbiz industry, has passed away after a year of separation from his fans.

Qavi Khan, counted among the pioneers of PTV actors, received numerous awards for his artistic contributions, including the Presidential Award for Performance, Pride of Performance, and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.

Born on November 15, 1942 in Peshawar, Muhammad Qavi Khan started his career as a child artist on Radio Pakistan.

He began his formal acting career on PTV in 1964 and played memorable roles in many dramas, gaining fame for his role as a police officer in the drama “Andhera Ujala”.

In 1965, Qavi Khan started his film career and showcased his acting talent in over two hundred films including “Mohabbat Zindagi Hai”, “Society Girl”, “Chan Suraj”, “Sirfrosh”, and “Kaley Chor”.

Qavi Khan was the first actor on Pakistan Television to receive the Presidential Award for Performance, followed by the Pride of Performance and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for his unforgettable performances.

This shining star of the Pakistani showbiz industry set on March 5, 2023, has forever set.
