Karachi: The Sindh High Court has demanded a response from the federal government regarding the unofficial ban on social media, stating that if there is no valid reason, then the social media platform should be fully reinstated.

The Sindh High Court has issued a 2-page written order regarding the request for the suspension of social media, including social networking websites.

The written order from the court stated that if there is no valid reason for the ban on social media apps, then the service should be fully restored.

It was also mentioned in the written order that a report regarding the implementation of the court orders should be submitted to the court.

The court instructed the federal government and others to consolidate requests regarding the suspension of social networking websites by issuing notices for March 5th.

The petitioner’s lawyer argued that restrictions have been imposed on freedom of expression by the PTI.
