Karachi: The martyrdom of Hazrat Ali is being celebrated today with great reverence and respect across the country. Mourning ceremonies will be organized and processions will be taken out in various cities. In Karachi, a central session on the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali organized by Zameer-e-Hassan Trust will be held at Nishtar Park on Wednesday, 21st Ramadan at 12 pm.
After recitations and salutations, Allama Rehan Hyder Rizvi will address the session, followed by a procession featuring flags and the coffin of Hazrat Ali. The procession will be led by scouts from Bhojraab Scouts, and participants from Shah Khurasan will join in.
The congregational Friday prayers will be held at 2 pm at Jinnah Road opposite Bando Khan Hotel, led by Mufti Mohammad Hussain. After the prayers, a protest rally will be organized by the Imamia Students Organization in solidarity with oppressed Palestinian Muslims.
Following the rally, the procession will follow its traditional route from Jinnah Road, Sea Breeze, President House Road, Regal Chowk, Preedy Street, back to Jinnah Road, Bolton Market, Bhitti Bazaar, Kharadar, and conclude at Hussainia Iranian Baragah Kharadar.
Full proof security arrangements have been made in Karachi for the procession of Hazrat Ali, with a large number of security personnel deployed for the central procession. Before the start of the procession, thorough sweeping of all routes by the bomb disposal squad will be carried out.
During the procession, CCTV cameras and aerial surveillance will be conducted, while expert marksmen from security agencies will be stationed on high-rise buildings. The route and surrounding markets and streets will be sealed off.
