Karachi: Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon changed 74 out of the 79 police officers transferred from district Shakarpur to Karachi after severe backlash from the public and political circles, issuing show-cause notices to them.
According to a statement issued by the Sindh Police spokesperson, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon stated that the 79 police officers transferred from Shakarpur to Karachi will not be given any posting. Instead, these officers are being transferred to the Garden Police Headquarters South in a newly established company.
IG Sindh also mentioned that no posting will be given to the 79 police officers being transferred and that other complaints, including connections with suspects, have been received against these officers.
Their actions were considered, as severe backlash notices were issued against them when initiating official action against them.
The spokesperson mentioned that upon IG Sindh’s directions, the mentioned police officers are being transferred to the Garden Police Headquarters South and an inquiry process has been initiated against all 79 police officers, which will lead to further action in the light of the investigation.
