Police in Rawalpindi’s Waris Khan station arrested a citizen involved in kite flying and subjected him to severe violence, as shown in a video that went viral. Upon the video surfacing, the SP suspended the officer and initiated an inquiry, leading to the arrest of the ASI. The details reveal that the ASI named Shahzad subjected the young man to severe violence and threats.
The citizen was threatened by the ASI that he would take action against him. After the video of the worst violence on the citizen went viral, SP Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani took notice and ordered ASP Rawalpindi Faisal Saleem to conduct an inquiry. Subsequently, the ASI was suspended, taken into custody, and a case was filed against him.
SP Rawalpindi stated that police misconduct will not be tolerated in any way. It should be noted that ASI Imtiaz Naseer in Taxila had previously targeted women for violence, and after a video of the incident went viral on social media, SP Rawalpindi conducted an investigation and suspended the ASI within three hours of receiving the report.
