Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated the nation and scientists on launching Pakistan’s first satellite to the moon.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif watched the live coverage of the launch of Pakistan’s first satellite ‘IQube Qamar’ towards the moon on Pakistan Television and expressed his happiness.

The Prime Minister expressed joy at Pakistan’s inclusion among the countries sending artificial satellites to the moon and said that the ‘IQube Qamar’ satellite is Pakistan’s first step in outer space. He mentioned that just like in the field of nuclear technology, our scientists, engineers, and artists are showcasing their talents in this field as well.

Shahbaz Sharif praised the Institute of Space Technology’s core committee, its member Dr. Khurram Khurshid, Sparco, and all the team members and especially the students who participated in the project.

IQube Qamar was designed, developed, and launched in collaboration with China’s Shanghai University and Pakistan’s National Space Agency, Sparco. In this context, the Prime Minister said that from the heights of the Himalayas to the depths of the ocean and from the sweetness of honey to the friendship with China, Pakistan has surpassed borders of scents and now even the boundaries of space.

He mentioned that out of 8 countries, only Pakistan’s project has been accepted, which is recognition of the capabilities of our scientists and experts. This historic moment of technical progress marks the entry of Pakistan into a new era of space exploration.

He stated that this achievement in satellite communication will enhance Pakistan’s capabilities in scientific research, economic development, and national security, creating new opportunities. He added that Pakistan’s sons have shown that they have the ability, passion, and skill to conquer the skies, and by the will of Allah, they will reach the heights of space and economic prosperity just like on May 28, 1998.

The Prime Minister said that with the complete manifestation of the dream of self-reliance in the field of communications infrastructure, Pakistan will be among the leading countries playing a leadership role in this field.

He emphasized that Pakistan needs progress in science, technology, and innovation, and efforts are being made to lead our young generation in modern sciences and arts, science, technology so that Pakistan is at the forefront of innovations in the world.
