A black-clad assailant was riding a motorcycle and was wearing a helmet of the same color, according to eyewitnesses. Lahore: A police officer was martyred due to firing by a motorcycle rider in the area of Taxali Gate. According to Express News, the motorcycle rider attacked and fired upon a police constable who was standing at a pan shop, resulting in the constable being severely injured and immediately transferred to the hospital but he could not be saved. The slain police officer was identified as Constable Ghulam Rasool, who was stationed in Judicial Wing. This is the second time a police officer has been targeted in the Taxali Gate area; previously, a motorcycle rider had fired upon two police officers, resulting in one inspector being martyred.
