Larkana: President of the country, Asif Ali Zardari, while stressing the importance of working together to solve Pakistan’s issues, has said that the country is not lacking resources, but rather in need of better thinking and understanding. He criticized the mentality and incompetence of the leaders sitting in Islamabad, which has disadvantaged the poor.
Speaking at the ceremony marking the anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s death in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Zardari addressed the audience and said that he is happy to celebrate with them, as history is now speaking for itself. He shared how he had doubts when Benazir Bhutto appointed him as the party’s chairman, but her wisdom showed him the way. He mentioned how he has spent 14 years in jail and understands the importance of standing up for one’s rights.
Zardari highlighted that it was not only Benazir who sacrificed, but also not just Bhutto who accepted martyrdom, but also Nasrat Bhutto, Shah Nawaz, Murtaza, and thousands of martyrs. He emphasized the need for unity and collaboration in order to build a better future for the coming generations and diminish the mistakes of past politicians.
He emphasized that it is the people who suffer when parties are constantly in conflict, and for the sake of the nation’s future, it is crucial to step back and think before taking any actions. He stressed that the loss of the people is the loss of the country, and it is time to work together to build a stronger Pakistan.
Zardari expressed his happiness in working towards a shared vision and plan for the country’s progress, and hoped that with the power and mindset of the people, they can eradicate past mistakes and move forward together.
