San Salvador: President Nayib Bukele, who claims to be the world’s most lenient dictator, has achieved a great success in the presidential election, becoming the elected president for the second time in a row and breaking the record of 100 years of El Salvador’s history.
According to international news agencies, El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, who claims to be the world’s most lenient dictator, got 85% of the votes and once again entered the presidential race. In this way, 42-year-old President Nayib Bukele became the first person to become president for the second time in a row in the last 100 years of El Salvador’s history. They will take the oath of their office on June 1.
The Election Commission of El Salvador has not yet announced the results of the presidential election, but President Nayib Bukele not only announced his victory but also celebrated at the presidential palace where thousands of citizens had gathered to congratulate him.
During his previous term in office, El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele had improved security issues in the country by cracking down on criminal gangs, restoring security, and establishing peace and security, which benefited him in the election.
Despite doubts about the end of democracy, President Nayib Bukele’s party, the New Ideas Party, managed to secure 58 out of 68 seats in the legislative assembly, while the opposition only received 7% of the votes.
During his term in office, President Nayib Bukele arrested over 75,000 citizens without any charges due to security reasons, which resulted in a significant decrease in the murder rate in the country.
After his success, he said that they had already gained control over gangs spread across the country like cancer, and now they only need to recover as soon as possible and become as powerful as they wanted to be.
