New York: The United States has said that the election of Maryam Nawaz as Prime Minister holds significance in Pakistani politics.
During a press briefing, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said that Maryam Nawaz’s election as Prime Minister is significant in Pakistani politics.
He said that the US looks at its partnership with Pakistan with value, while also having a longstanding alliance with the country.
Miller said that both happy and democratic Pakistan are important for the interests of both countries, but the focus is on advancing common interests with Pakistan’s new government.
