Rohit Sharma will be leading India to the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 final, where they will face either Pakistan or Sri Lanka on Sunday. Sharma has been in excellent form, scoring three consecutive half-centuries in the tournament. He currently holds the top position as the leading run scorer in the Asia Cup 2023, accumulating 194 runs from four matches, with an unbeaten 74 as his highest score. His impressive batting average of 64.66 and strike rate of 108.98 has solidified his position as a key player for the team.

However, despite his remarkable performances, Sharma has faced criticism regarding his fitness and his food choices, particularly his fondness for fatty foods like Vada Pav. In fact, a tweet from former cricketer Yuvraj Singh from back in 2010 mocking Sharma’s fitness has resurfaced on social media, drawing attention once again.

A day before the final against Sri Lanka, Sharma tweeted about his return from practice, emphasizing the significance of the upcoming match. Yuvraj Singh replied to his tweet, wishing him luck but also reminding him to “run faster fatty.” The banter between the two cricketers garnered attention, but ultimately, Sharma’s performance spoke for itself. He scored 41 runs off 52 deliveries with three boundaries, contributing to his side’s comfortable 81-run victory in the game.

The Asia Cup final holds great importance for India, and all eyes will be on Rohit Sharma as he leads the team into battle. Despite previous criticisms, Sharma’s impressive performance in the tournament has silenced many doubters, proving his mettle as a top-notch batsman for India.
