Tom Aspinall made history by becoming the first British fighter to win a UFC heavyweight title, with Alex Pereira also claiming the light heavyweight championship at UFC 295 at Madison Square Garden. Aspinall clinched the interim heavyweight title with a stunning knockout of Sergei Pavlovich that saw him collapse in tears on the canvas after just 69 seconds. Meanwhile, Pereira used a series of counter-punches to defeat Jiri Prochazka and call out for a title fight against Israel Adesanya. The event also saw Jessica Andrade snap a three-fight losing streak with a TKO win over MacKenzie Dern, and UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie celebrate the 30th anniversary of UFC’s debut show. Former President Donald Trump and musician Kid Rock were among the high-profile attendees at the event, which set a $12.4m gate at Madison Square Garden.
