Two children lose their lives due to diarrhea outbreak in central district of Karachi

In the central district of Karachi, two children have died from the outbreak of diarrhea, while numerous people have been affected by the outbreak in areas such as Masroor Colony and Feroz Colony in Nazimabad over the past week.

During the extreme heat in Karachi over the past week, the disease of diarrhea is being reported from various areas due to contaminated drinking water. On the other hand, the provincial health department confirmed the outbreak of diarrhea in Yusuf 49 Colony in Nazimabad number one district, along with the confirmation of the deaths of two children.

Residents of the affected area also spoke to ‘Express News’ and expressed their fear and anxiety following the deaths of the children. They claimed that the rapid spread of the disease in the area due to contaminated water is affecting people, including children and elderly individuals.

In this regard, the district health officer Dr. Ali Murtaza confirmed the deaths of a boy and a four-year-old girl and stated that so far more than 25 people are affected by the disease of diarrhea in the mentioned area.

Dr. Ali Murtaza claimed to form medical assistance teams in the affected areas. He said that medical assistance is being provided to the affected individuals. Additionally, he mentioned that the outbreak of cholera is spreading due to the inclusion of sewage water in drinking water.
