The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-backed independent candidates dealt major blows to all major political parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the general elections. Notable losses included the Awami National Party, Jamaat-i-Islami, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, Qaumi Watan Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and Pakistan Peoples Party on their home turf.

JUI-F emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman was defeated by PTI-supported independent contestant Ali Amin Gandapur in his hometown Dera Ismail Khan (NA-44 constituency). JUI-F only secured one National Assembly and six Provincial Assembly seats in the 2024 polls, a significant setback for the party.

Additionally, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lost in NA-15 Mansehra-cum-Torghar to PTI-backed Prince Mohammad Gastasab Khan, while ANP provincial president Aimal Wali Khan was routed by PTI-backed independent Fazal Mohammad Khan in NA-25 (Charsadda-II).

Former Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti also lost his election, causing him to resign from his party’s office. Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq was unsuccessful in NA-6 Lower Dir. The Qaumi Watan Party and Pakistan Peoples Party also faced defeats in their strongholds.

Overall, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-backed independent candidates made significant gains, leading to widespread losses for the major political parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
