The Punjab government has temporarily lifted the smog restrictions imposed in Lahore and other districts. Minister of Information Punjab, Aamer Mehmood, speaking to the media after the meeting, said that markets, bazaars, and restaurants will be open on Saturdays and Sundays as per usual. He also mentioned that educational institutions may resume teaching activities once the smog situation improves.
Furthermore, he announced that winter holidays in Punjab schools will start from December 18, and a reassessment of the smog situation will be conducted next week.
On the other hand, Lahore is considering artificial rain as a solution to end smog, as the Punjab government has so far been unable to carry out the plan to bring artificial rain.
