The Israel-Palestine Conflict: A Bleak Future for Israel in the Middle East

Israel’s destructive policies and war on Gaza may ultimately lead to the demise of the country. The deliberate murder of Palestinians under the guise of self-defence will not enhance Israel’s security or secure its future. Instead, it will lead to greater insecurity, isolation, and instability in the region.

Despite initial hopes for peace in the early 1990s, Israel’s colonial nature has dominated its behavior at every turn, leading to a doubling down on its occupation and colonization of Palestinian territories. This has resulted in the entrenchment of a dual system, with superior treatment for Jews and inferior treatment for Palestinians.

As Israel has slid further towards fascism, the far-right leadership has rejected compromise and expanded illegal Jewish settlements, tightened the siege of Gaza, and implemented racist laws that uphold Jewish supremacy. This has fueled further conflict and resistance from Palestinians.

The recent attack on Gaza has only intensified the destructive path that Israel is on, with the government turning a tragic event into a genocidal war. The war on hospitals, schools, and residential buildings has led to the death of thousands of Palestinian civilians, with no regard for international law or basic human decency.

As Western public opinion turns against Israel, its future looks increasingly uncertain. It may be its last chance to pull away from the brink and embrace a two-state solution, as impractical as it may seem today. Failure to do so could lead to the demise of Israel as it is known.

Long before the war on Gaza, experts predicted the demise of Israel if it continued on its destructive path. The war on Gaza may be the beginning of the end for Israel, as apartheid South Africa’s regime ultimately imploded. Israel, as we know it, is destined to vanish, regardless of the bloodshed caused by its policies.
