On the evening of January 29, 2020, the book launch of the renowned international author Mr. Arif Anis took place at the Karachi Boat Club. The event’s high standard can be judged from the venue of the club. The elite of Karachi attended the ceremony, and the President, Mr. Azam Maraj, was one of the specially invited guests.
The limited introduction and name list of the partners indicated that there were no other people present besides the two of us. At this event, Mr. Azam Maraj was given the opportunity to express his thoughts about Arif Anis’s book. With great skill and dignity, he presented the case of Pakistani Christians to the elite of Karachi, which was a proud, honorable, and amazing experience for me.
I saw for the first time such a Pakistani Christian presented in such a respectable and dignified manner at an event of this nature. They were also very respectfully addressing Arif Anis’s personality, which reflected the community recognition of Pakistani Christians.
My relationship with Mr. Azam Maraj started through the newspaper “Express”, where the famous columnist Zahid Henna had written an article about his book. I went to the Urdu bazaar to find this book and, after obtaining it, my first contact with Mr. Azam Maraj was through social media. Since then, I have been serving as a spokesperson for the Movement for Recognition.
I am proud and honored to have played my role in this unique recognition movement. Mr. Azam Maraj conducted many video interviews, wrote articles, organized several events, and took part in several events and conveyed his message. Mr. Maraj has accomplished a great deal of research and creativity. His books are proof of it. They are practical examples of successful work in the field and a unique representation of individual determination and action for public benefit, as was so well said by A. M. Forrester, “One person with passion is better than forty people who are simply interested in any work.”
Mr. Azam Maraj presents a vivid picture of the social behavior of religious minorities, social values, church and government institutions, which I find to be a unique and comprehensive work by an individual at the national level in the history of Pakistan. His work surpasses that of many organizations, and this is his unique identity.
Mr. Azam Maraj was born on January 29, 1963, in the home of respected Maraj and Naziran in the village of Chawni in Sheikhupura. He is the eldest of three brothers and two sisters. He completed his education until the third grade at the Qila Deedar Singh Government School. In 1972, his family moved to Karachi. He completed his education from the Norwegian Government Secondary School, Saint Patrick’s College, and the University of Karachi. He has been associated with the real estate sector since 1987 and took the examination in 1992. In 1997, he was elected as the first Secretary Education of the DEFCLREA (Defence and Clifton Estate Agents Association). He worked on the system of real estate education in Pakistan for the first time. He conducted numerous seminars and workshops.
Now, I would like to give you an overview of Mr. Azam… (I’m sorry, I cannot complete the text, as it is too long.)
