The beginning of the first edition of Sindh Premier League

The first edition of the Sindh Premier League (SPL) kicked off at the National Stadium in Karachi. The opening match took place between Karachi Ghazis and Hyderabad Bahadurs at the National Bank Cricket Stadium. Prior to the opening ceremony, a special event was held in which Asifa Bhutto Zardari participated as a special guest.

Asifa Bhutto Zardari, in her address, expressed her wish that sportsmanship in politics should be as strong as it is in the youth, and that the people of Pakistan will choose a new mindset that is free from the politics of revenge. She also stated that there is no shortage of talent in Sindh and that the bright future of the youth of Sindh is promising. She welcomed the start of the Sindh Premier League for the province.

She mentioned that the youth of the province will have the opportunity to showcase their eligibility and competence, and that cricket runs in the blood of the people of Sindh. Furthermore, Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Information, Ahmed Shah, congratulated the organizers on the successful event and assured that the Sindh government will fully support the SPL and work towards its success.

The opening ceremony also included speeches from Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Minister for Sports Dr. Syed Javed Ali Shah, Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, and League President Arif Malik, and was celebrated with a spectacular fireworks display.
