Lahore: The Punjab government has formed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the clash between police and Pakistan Army personnel in Bahawalnagar.
According to the notification, the Special Secretary Home Fazlur Rehman will be the convener of the JIT, while Commissioner Bahawalpur Nadir Chhutta will be a member of the JIT. In addition, DIG Special Branch Faisal Raja and representatives from ISI and IB will also be part of the JIT.
Prior to this, a statement issued by the ISPR of the Pakistan Army had said that a transparent inquiry will be conducted and those involved in any legal violations will be identified through a joint investigation involving police and security officials.
