Supreme Judicial Council meeting; complaint filed against Justice Sardar Tariq Masood

The Judicial Council asked to review Justice Nazar’s complaints about Supreme Court judge Justice Sardar Tariq Masood.

Islamabad: The Supreme Judicial Council has unanimously dismissed the complaint against Supreme Court judge Justice Sardar Tariq Masood. Chief Justice Faez Isa is chairing the Council’s session, which reviewed the complaints against Justice Mazhar Naqvi and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood. The council unanimously dismissed the complaint against Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, and further action on that issue has been deferred until a review of the complaints against Justice Mazhar Naqvi is conducted.

The recording of assets against Justice Mazhar Ali Naqvi has been initiated. The Judicial Council has sought complete records of two properties in Lahore in the name of Justice Mazhar Naqvi, including Plot Number 144 Block F-1 in Gulberg Three Lahore and 100 Kanal Plot in Jones Park Lahore.

During the Judicial Council session under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Faez Isa, Justice Mazhar Naqvi raised objections to three members of the council. Justice Mazhar Naqvi also participated in the Judicial Council meeting and was represented by lawyer Khawaja Haris.

Justice Mazhar Naqvi objected to three members of the council. After reviewing the objections and filing a complaint against it, The Judicial Council has adjourned the meeting until three o’clock on Tuesday afternoon.

Supreme Judicial Council’s notification: 
The Supreme Judicial Council’s notification stated that the complaint against Justice Tariq Masood was dismissed. The complainant, Amina Malik, could not provide satisfactory answers to the complaint against Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, as per details provided in the notification.

The notification states that the complainant has admitted that her complaint was unsatisfactory upon review of the documents. The council has adjourned the sessions to take action and respond during the hearing to the complainant, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood.

The complaint was made to defame Justice Tariq Masood. The Judicial Council has dismissed the complaint after reviewing all evidence.

They might decide a decision on Amina Malik’s complaint later, and a notice has been issued to the advocate, Azhar Siddique, requiring a clarification within seven days.

The notice states that Azhar Siddique must clarify why he issued a complaint against Justice Tariq Masood on social media and why no action should be taken against him.
