Published on November 7, 2023, South Africa has joined the growing list of countries that are recalling their diplomats from Israel in order to voice their concerns regarding the alleged collective punishment of Palestinians in Gaza. This move brings the total number of countries that have withdrawn their ambassadors or cut diplomatic ties to at least nine.
