Karachi: Despite multiple orders from the Sindh High Court, the illegal construction in the city continues, prompting the court to order the Building Control Authority officials to cancel their identity cards.

According to the details, despite multiple orders from the High Court, the illegal construction in the city continues, and the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) and its officials are facing strong criticism from the court. The court has issued orders to cancel the identity cards of the officials while the SBCA officials are still seen collecting bribes from both illegal and legal construction operators, which is causing severe difficulties for the citizens.

Continuous strong criticism from the High Court is being seen in regard to the illegal constructions in Karachi, while the SBCA is facing tough remarks from the court, but the officials are not willing to comply with the court orders and are openly supervising the illegal constructions.

The blind and unlawful construction is taking place in different blocks of Liaquatabad, North Karachi, New Karachi, and Federal B. Areas, and the directions for taking strict action against illegal construction in the central district are being given by the High Court. However, the SBCA officials are not willing to adhere to the judicial orders.

Despite legal approval, some SBCA officials are seen accepting bribes, causing even the legal construction operators to face extortion.

Similarly, there is a large-scale series of illegal constructions taking place in the East district, especially in Adam Society and PCH Society, where more than two hundred illegal constructions are being fully supervised by SBCA officials.

In the society, an illegal floor is being constructed in exchange for heavy bribes, but instead of stopping it, the SBCA officials are facilitating this illegal construction.

Illegal constructions are also taking place in the schemes of Titas without any action from the SBCA, which falls under the jurisdiction of the court.

Despite the strict orders of the court in Karachi, the SBCA is not implementing judicial orders, which falls under contempt of court, but instead the officials are stood down against the judicial orders, while SBCA officials are being criticized for not stopping illegal constructions by the court. The SBCA has blocked the identity card for not implementing judicial orders.

In this regard, when DG SBCA Issac Khoro was contacted for a response, he did not receive any calls, and upon a visit to his office, he was not present during office hours.
