Efforts have been made in the past to transfer Muneiba Government Boys Primary and Lower Secondary School, located in Federal B Area, Karachi, into the hands of a private mafia. The property, worth billions of rupees, is currently at risk of being taken over by the mafia. It is reported that the school has 7 teachers and 2 non-teaching staff, with 135 students who are currently at risk of being forcibly transferred to another school. The fear is that during the Eid holidays, the school may be taken over by the mafia, leading to the property being transferred to private ownership and potentially depriving underprivileged students of an education.

It should be noted that on October 1, 1972, as per the policy of the Ministry of Education, the school was taken over by the government. Since then, there have been several attempts to transfer the school to private ownership and relocate the students to other schools, until now.

The current Director of School Education, Yar Mohammad Baladi, has stated in response to inquiries that discussions about the transfer of the school are ongoing, but all legal aspects are being carefully considered. Recently, there have been attempts by another private party to take over the school.

In the midst of these events, the school has been the center of protests by students and efforts to protect it by the local administration. Despite attempts by the authorities to transfer the school, it remains in its current location, and renovation and decoration work was carried out in 2023. The report also highlights the lack of other government schools within a 1 km radius of the school, making it difficult to relocate the school and its students, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
