After consulting with friends and family members, Tarin has announced his decision to quit PTI and politics, citing health and financial issues over the past two years.

Despite being elected as a senator last week, Tarin has decided to step away from politics. He had previously served as an adviser to the prime minister on finance and revenue, and was appointed as the finance minister in 2021.

In addition to his recent decision, former deputy speaker Punjab Assembly Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi has also announced his departure from PTI and politics, citing the party’s policy of confrontation with state institutions as the reason for his decision.
