Raja Riaz addressed reporters in Lahore on Sunday, expressing gratitude that the PTI chairman is no longer prime minister. He also predicted that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz will dominate in Punjab’s upcoming elections, stating that the party does not need to form alliances with others.
While discussing seat adjustments in the province, Riaz mentioned that the Istehkam-e-Pakistan party is unlikely to make significant progress in Punjab and clarified that the IPP has no alliance with PMLN.
Riaz was previously a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and served as the opposition leader in the assembly after refusing to resign along with most of the party following the no-confidence vote that removed Imran Khan from power. In September 2023, he joined PMLN, shortly after the Pakistan Democratic Movement government ended.
