Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the importance of the health sector and the efforts being made to improve health facilities across the province. He made these remarks during the inauguration of the Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi Institute of Cardiology (CPEIC) extension project in Multan. The 200-bed extension project of the cardiology hospital has been completed, and Naqvi also laid the foundation stone of a 150-bed Inn for the relatives of patients, with the project expected to be completed by December. He announced plans to enhance the cardiology hospital’s emergency ward beds and expressed dissatisfaction over the construction quality of the project, ordering improvements. Additionally, the Nishtar II hospital project is nearing completion, aimed at reducing the burden on Nishtar hospital. There are also ongoing renovations and rehabilitation of wards at Nishtar Hospital and the children’s hospital. Naqvi assured the provision of free medicines in hospitals within limited resources and pledged to ensure the completion of ongoing uplift projects within the designated time frame. The Inspector General of Police, additional chief secretary of South Punjab, secretaries of health, and other officials were also present at the event.
