A PTI leader, Asad Qaiser, was taken into custody on Friday by the Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad police during a raid on his residence in the capital. The following day, a sessions court in Islamabad ordered his judicial remand. The court instructed investigators to complete legal proceedings against Qaiser within a week. While being brought before the judicial magistrate, Qaiser’s lawyer expressed concern over the timing of his arrest, suggesting it was politically motivated. The lawyer also mentioned that Qaiser frequently visited Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he had never been detained by the ACE team. The court denied the request for protective bail and placed Qaiser under judicial remand, urging the ACE KP to conclude the legal proceedings swiftly.
