Islamabad: The possibilities of Pakistan receiving the next IMF program have brightened. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board has issued a schedule until April 29th, including Pakistan’s economic review in the agenda of the Executive Board meeting. This has opened up clear possibilities for Pakistan to receive the next program, as the staff-level agreement between Pakistan and the IMF was reached on March 20, 2024. With the approval of the IMF Executive Board, Pakistan is set to receive a tranche of one billion dollars. The IMF had decided to convene the Executive Board meeting on Pakistan’s case at the end of April.
