A massive fire broke out under Karachi’s Teen Hatti Bridge on Thursday, resulting in the torching of over 50 huts, according to officials from the police and rescue services. The cause of the fire has not been determined, but it is believed to be the result of human error. Initially, one fire tender was sent to the location, but more were dispatched as the gravity of the situation became clear. It took 11 fire tenders to control the fire, and cooling work is currently underway. While no casualties were reported, approximately 40 huts were destroyed. This incident is just one of many recent fires in the city, including a fire in a private steel mill that resulted in two deaths and one injury, as well as a fire in a towel factory.
