Lahore: Punjab’s candidate for Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, strongly condemned the violence against an elderly woman by the police in Taxila, requesting action from Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Maryam Nawaz contacted Punjab’s Chief Minister Usman Buzdar regarding the incident of police violence and requested immediate action, stating that an investigation should be carried out into the incident and those responsible should be held accountable.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar assured Maryam Nawaz that the incident will be investigated and action will be taken against the officers involved in the violence.

Expressing deep sorrow and regret over the violence by the police against the elderly woman, Maryam Nawaz said that she was informed of the incident due to the session of the Punjab Assembly, which has deeply saddened her.

She stated that such behavior of police brutality will never be accepted.
