In a recent development, former interior minister Rana Sanaullah has announced that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has obtained a ‘guarantee’ for the return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan.

Rana Sanaullah made this statement during a private TV program, where he stated that Sharif will return to Pakistan once the general elections are announced.

“We have received assurance on this matter [Nawaz Sharif’s return], therefore, there is no risk for the party,” said the former interior minister during the interview. “It is highly likely that Nawaz Sharif will be acquitted as well,” he added.

Rana Sanaullah further stated that the right to appeal under the suo moto notice will be granted at any cost, and that the upcoming Parliament might consider eliminating the suo moto law.

Responding to a query, Sanaullah claimed that the Establishment is also in agreement on delaying the elections in the country.

Preparations are underway for the return of Nawaz Sharif, with Shehbaz and Maryam Nawaz remaining in constant contact with the PML-N leader.
