Anwaarul Haq Kakar, the Caretaker Prime Minister, is scheduled to leave for Tashkent, Uzbekistan tomorrow (Wednesday) to participate in the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) summit, as announced by the Foreign Office (FO) on Tuesday. The summit is scheduled to take place from November 8-9 and Kakar is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to ECO vision 2025 and the advancement of regional cooperation in various areas. Additionally, the interim premier will present Pakistan’s vision for the organization’s future work and engage in bilateral discussions with Uzbekistan’s leadership and other participating leaders. The FO also highlighted Pakistan’s dedication to the connectivity and mutual prosperity of the ECO region as a founding member. This follows former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s attendance at the 26th ECO Council of Ministers meeting in Tashkent earlier this year in January.
