Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians president and co-chairman, expressed his dissatisfaction with certain elements who were apparently unhappy when he relinquished his presidential powers to the parliament through the 18th constitutional amendment. Although he did not explicitly name them, it was widely speculated that he was referring to the security establishment. Zardari made these remarks during a gathering of party workers in Nawanshah. He dismissed the criticism against him on private TV channels, stating that he never paid them any attention because they were beneath him. Zardari reassured the party workers that he would always prioritize the best interests of the party and the country. He pledged that the PPP would present the best manifesto and run an effective election campaign. Zardari claimed that the PPP had successfully navigated the country through crises in the past and believed in the power of the people’s mandate. The meeting was attended by former Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, lawmakers, and senior activists.
