Leaders from various political parties in Pakistan have criticized the resolution passed by the Senate calling to delay the February 8 elections. PTI has called on the Supreme Court to enforce its orders and foil any attempts to delay the polls. PPP has vowed to probe why their senator did not oppose the resolution, while the Caretaker Minister emphasized that there was no official decision to delay the polls and that the Election Commission of Pakistan will have the final say. PML-N also expressed its opposition to the resolution and stated that they want the elections to be held as scheduled. Meanwhile, Jamaat-i-Islami criticized the resolution as a conspiracy against the country and democracy.
