The Ministry of Railways has announced plans to digitize all records of locomotives and shift to a Fuel Management System. Caretaker Minister for Railways Shahid Ashraf Tarar instructed railway officials to ensure the latest facilities at Railways hospitals nationwide during a meeting at Railways Headquarters in Lahore. He also directed the usage of fuel to be shifted to the Fuel Management System within two weeks and to open all railways hospitals to the general public from next month. Additionally, all electricity meters in Railways colonies will be transferred to distribution companies. The meeting concluded with the decision to digitize all records of railway engines within two months. The railway management also aims to expand the network of express trains to 96 by December 25, and improve facilities for passengers at railway stations. The punctuality ratio of trains has improved from 76 to 93 percent in three months, and Pakistan Railways plans to introduce the Train Driver Assistant System to enhance safety and efficiency during adverse weather conditions.
