Pakistan’s spinners claimed a win in the final Twenty20 international against New Zealand to avoid a series clean sweep. The tourists took a consolation 42-run victory as they dismissed the Black Caps for 92 in defense of 134-8. Iftikhar Ahmed took 3-24, while Mohammad Nawaz and Shaheen Shah Afridi also contributed to the win. Pakistan’s captain, Shaheen Shah Afridi, expressed the importance of the win while New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner admitted their poor chase exposed some weaknesses. New Zealand won the series 4-1 but Pakistan ended on a positive note and is focused on the T20 World Cup in June.
