Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister has called for a united effort to tackle climate change, urging political parties and intellectuals to make it a national cause. Speaking at the launch ceremony of the monsoon plantation drive, the PM emphasized the importance of addressing climate change in every discourse.

The PM highlighted the consequences Pakistan faced last year, such as floods, despite the country’s minimal contribution to the mismanagement of climate change. He emphasized that it was crucial for Pakistan to take action to mitigate the effects of climate change and requested the global community to provide necessary support in terms of resources and attention.

Furthermore, the PM expressed his belief that Islamic teachings should encompass more than just worship. He pointed out that Islam also emphasizes human rights and the protection of natural habitats. The PM condemned the abuse of natural habitats as a denial of blessings and a crime.

He explained that climate change intervention and rearrangement disrupt the soul of nature, leading to natural calamities like floods and tsunamis. According to the caretaker PM, these natural disasters are an expression of nature’s discomfort.

It is hoped that the monsoon plantation drive, initiated by the PM, will contribute to efforts in combating climate change and protecting natural habitats. By promoting a united front and emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to addressing climate change, the country seeks to make a positive impact on the global fight against environmental issues.
