After being kidnapped in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti in early September, two footballers have now been found and recovered by provincial authorities after more than a month. The abduction occurred last month when six footballers, including the two recently recovered, were taken by unknown armed individuals in the Kachhi canal area of Sui Tehsil in the Dera Bugti district. The players were traveling with other members of the Dera Bugti district football team to participate in a football tournament. Four of the kidnapped footballers were previously rescued and reunited with their families last month. The commissioner praised the efforts of law enforcement agencies and the local administration for their role in the recovery and stated that further investigations are ongoing. The security forces conducted operations in over 18 areas to apprehend the kidnappers, leading to the release of the four athletes on September 29.
