The 37th chief of the PCB, Punjab’s caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi, was elected unopposed at the National Cricket Academy, Lahore during the elections.

Naqvi is set to serve as the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman for a three-year term.

Following the resignation of Zaka Ashraf, caretaker PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar appointed Shah Khawar as the election commissioner of the Cricket Board.

In January, Zaka Ashraf stepped down from his position as PCB Management Committee chairman after serving for at least seven months.

In a statement, Ashraf expressed disappointment over the working conditions and cited his inability to work amid such circumstances. He also mentioned that it was not the prime minister’s prerogative to nominate a new chairman.
