Neelo Begum, a famous Pakistani film actress, passed away three years ago, leaving behind her fans. She rose to fame with the song “Aye Mausam Rangile Suhanay” from the film “Saat Lakh” and also received the Nigar Award for her outstanding performance in the film “Zarqa”. Born Santosh Eliazandar Fernandes in a Christian family in the village of Bheera near Sargodha on June 30, 1940, she later married renowned film director Riaz Shahid and converted to Islam, adopting the name Abida Riaz. Neelo Begum made her debut in Bollywood in 1956 with the film “Bwanijunction”, but it was the song “Aye Mausam Rangile Suhanay” from the Pakistani film “Saat Lakh” in 1957 that brought her immense fame. Throughout her career, she showcased her talent in films like “Doshiza”, “Azra”, “Zarqa”, “Beti”, “Dachi”, “Jeedar”, “Sheer Di Bachi”, and “Nagan”, winning the hearts of millions of fans. Neelo Begum passed away on January 30, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.
