Nawaz Sharif, the leader of PML-N, finally made an appearance at the party’s election rally with the general elections just three weeks away. He expressed his mission to make Pakistan “stand on its feet again.” The party’s election campaign, led by Maryam, had recently begun in Okara after facing criticism for underwhelming canvassing. At a rally in Hafizabad, Nawaz briefly spoke before giving way to Maryam, who delivered the final speech. Nawaz highlighted the progress made by PML-N during its tenure and promised to continue working towards making Pakistan stand on its feet. Maryam, the PML-N chief organiser, declared that “the sher [tiger] will roar on Feb 8” and praised Nawaz for leading Pakistan to progress. She also took a dig at Imran Khan without naming him, claiming that a man in jail cannot sympathize with the youth.
