The name of Abu Dhabi Airport has been changed to Sheikh Zayed International Airport, named after the first president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed. According to Arab media, the change in the name of Abu Dhabi Airport will take effect from February 9, 2024, when the formal opening of the Terminal A, covering an area of 742,000 square meters, will take place. After the operation of Terminal A at Abu Dhabi Airport, there can be a simultaneous presence of 79 aircraft, and the capacity for annual passenger traffic will be approximately 40 million. The trial and partial operation of Terminal A have already begun, but it will be fully functional on February 9, 2024, and from that day onwards, Abu Dhabi Airport will be known as Sheikh Zayed International Airport. It should be noted that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was the founder and first president of the United Arab Emirates, who passed away at the age of 86 in 2004. He led the UAE towards development and built the modern country.
