Lahore Qalandars faced another defeat at the hands of Multan Sultans at Qaddafi Stadium on Tuesday, adding to their growing list of troubles. Chasing a challenging target of 215, Lahore faltered and were bowled out for 154, with Usama Mir taking six wickets for Multan.

Despite a strong start, Lahore struggled to maintain momentum after losing their opening partnership. Key players like Fakhar Zaman, Rassie van der Dussen, and Kamran Ghulam failed to convert their starts into substantial scores. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 31 runs.

In a questionable move, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi batted ahead of Carlos Brathwaite, who only came in when the game was almost out of reach for Lahore. Usama Mir shone for Multan with the ball, while their batsmen, led by Usman Khan, had a successful outing.

Although Lahore’s bowlers made early breakthroughs, they were unable to contain Multan’s batting onslaught. Multan’s depleted foreign player lineup did not hinder their dominant performance, as they continued to lead the points table.

With zero wins out of six games, Lahore’s chances of qualifying for the playoffs are slim. They will need favorable results and convincing victories in their remaining matches to have a shot at the playoffs.
