PML-N has reportedly requested MQM-P to withdraw Mustafa Kamal from NA 242 Baldia in favor of the party president and former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif. In return, PML-N has offered to support MQM-P on a provincial seat.
However, the MQM-P delegation has rejected the request and insisted on PML-N’s support for Mustafa Kamal, citing him as a strong candidate for NA 242, according to sources.

Meanwhile, MQM-P has assured PML-N of their full support on two National Assembly seats (NA 229 and 230), but PML-N is seeking support on 7 NA and 20 provincial seats.
Furthermore, the final decision on seat adjustment for the 2024 general election will be made by the senior leadership of both parties, as per sources.
MQM’s refusal to adjust traditional seats
Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) rejected the idea of adjusting its traditional seats with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
Both parties have agreed to hold discussions for adjustment on a rural seat in Malir. Mustafa Kamal would be MQM-P’s candidate for the Baldia Town seat, while the political party has insisted on naming its candidates for both National Assembly (NA) seats in Hyderabad.
