On Monday, 1586 illegal Afghan nationals returned to their country, bringing the total number of returned immigrants to 438,376.

The apex committee of the National Action Plan (NAP) set a deadline of October 31 for all foreign nationals living illegally in the country to leave voluntarily or face deportation during a meeting on October 3 chaired by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.

The government of Pakistan is assisting in the repatriation process for illegal Afghans at the Torkham and Chaman borders.

Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti emphasized that there should be no mistreatment of illegal immigrants during the repatriation process, as directed by Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.

Bugti also assured the House that any mismanagement on the borders would be addressed and welcomed suggestions from the political leadership in this regard. He also stated that no Afghan refugee with legal documents has been mistreated.
