Man Dies after Alleged Torture in Police Custody in Gujranwala

A tragic incident occurred in Gujranwala where a man named Faisal Mukhtar died in police custody under alleged torture. The victim, who was involved in a serious incident, was initially arrested by the Model Town Police and later transferred to the CIA for his safety, according to SSP Operations Faraz Ahmed.

The police claimed that Faisal Mukhtar died due to a heart attack. However, his body has been sent to the hospital for a postmortem examination, and the necessary steps will be taken once the medical report is available.

In another distressing incident, a 23-year-old named Adil also lost his life allegedly due to police torture in the Quaid-e-Azam Factory area of Lahore. The family members of the deceased and residents of the area surrounded the police station to express their strong protest against the alleged misconduct of the policemen.

According to Adil’s father, his son was forcibly taken from outside their house by plainclothes policemen on Monday. The father further mentioned that a missing person report was filed at the Green Town Police Station the next day.

Later that night, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Green Town police station informed the father about his son’s demise and instructed him to reach the Industrial Area Police Station to gather more information.
